Youth voter registration at Meridian High School occurs twice a year, in the fall and spring. These opportunities are advertised in the weekly newsletter and on our calendar. In order to work inside the high school, volunteers must be members of LWV Falls Church, have a Virginia DMV issued identification, and be certified by the Virginia Department of Elections. Specific activities involved in holding a high school registration event include:
Coordinate with high school officials to identify dates when the event can be held.
Contact school officials to include the event in Morning Announcements, making special note that students will need to know their Social Security number to register to vote.
Print needed materials.
Recruit volunteers to assist, ensuring that they have taken the required Voter Registration Training.
Set up and take down space before and after the event.
Drop off completed voter registration forms to the City's Office of Voter Registration & Elections.
